Current openings include Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Product Design Engineer, as well as, Steam Technician.


Field Engineer

The Field Engineer visits customer facilities, studies utility data, facility profiles and steam system characteristics. Documents existing practices and investigates steam reduction measures and thermal efficiency improvements. Performs tests on the steam system and documents the post retrofit results. Participates in steam system retrofit projects and maintenance programs. Documents the results and presents case studies in appropriate trade and/or professional organizations.

Minimum Requirements

All of these requirements have to be met:

  • B.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent
  • Three years job experience
  • Fluent communication in English

Necessary Requirements

At least 2 of these requirements have to be met:

  • M.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent
  • One year experience in facilities or plant engineering
  • One year experience in ESCO projects
  • One year in relevant technical field (i.e. controls, comfort heat steam equipment, process steam heating equipment, steam piping)

Optional Requirements

Preferred abilities:

  • Steam Piping and instrumentation design
  • Steam Piping and instrumentation construction
  • Familiarity with CAD and related software
  • Steam system testing, maintenance and repair

Project Engineer

The Project Engineer leads the technical team in visits to the customer facilities to perform steam system evaluations, including tests, and gathers all the necessary data to prepare an engineering report. Prepares documents and presents the engineering reports which show the findings, recommendations, their cost, benefits and anticipated payback. Supervises the retrofit projects, including commissioning and post retrofit review. Prepares and presents case studies to trade and/or professional organizations.

Minimum Requirements

All of these requirements have to be met:

  • B.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent
  • Five years job experience
  • Fluent communication in English

Necessary Requirements

At least 5 of these requirements have to be met:

  • P.E. registration
  • C.E.M. certification
  • M.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent
  • Certified Project Management training
  • Three years experience with steam systems
  • Three years experience in facilities or plant engineering
  • Three years experience in energy audits
  • Three years experience in an ESCO company
  • Three years in relevant technical field (i.e. controls, instrumentation, comfort heat steam equipment, process steam heating equipment, steam piping)

Optional Requirements

Preferred abilities:

  • Good knowledge of steam plant operations (i.e., institutional, power, chemical, petrochemical, food processing, etc.)
  • Trained in measurement and verification of steam system retrofit projects
  • Experience with ASHRAE steam system standards


Product Design Engineer

The Product Design Engineer will lead the effort to develop new products for steam applications. The engineer must be familiar with all relevant U.S. and International material, pressure/temperature standards for steam system components.

Minimum Requirements

All of these requirements have to be met:

  • B.Sc. in Engineering 
  • Eight years relevant job experience
  • Completed projects as a manager
  • Organizational skills

Necessary Requirements 

At least 4 of these requirements have to be met:

  • M.Sc. in Engineering
  • Good understanding of fluid dynamics
  • Good understanding of ISO 9000 requirements 
  • Certified Project Management training
  • Two years experience in designing new products
  • Five years experience in designing steam valves and fittings 
  • Five years experience in vendor selection and management 


Steam Technician

Performs surveys and tests on steam system piping and equipment. Works on retrofit projects and assists in commissioning, post retrofit and maintenance programs. Performs steam fitting tasks when required and trains outside contractors.

Minimum Requirements

All of these requirements have to be met:

  • Two years of college 
  • Eight years job experience
  • Fluent communication in English

Necessary Requirements

At least 4 of these requirements have to be met:

  • Finish HVAC, boiler, steam fitting school
  • Three years experience in maintenance of steam systems
  • Three years experience in welding and brazing
  • Three years in construction of steam lines and instrumentation
  • Three years in installing and repairing steam process equipment
  • Three years in installing and repairing HVAC equipment
  • Three years of steam pipefitting
  • Three years of steam trap testing and repairs

Optional Requirements

Preferred abilities:

  • Familiarity with reading blueprints
  • Presentation skills
  • Familiarity with plant operations in institutions
  • Familiarity with plant operations in process plants
